Last week we were under a heat advisory with temps above 100 degrees. After a few weekend storms we are having some beautiful weather now. It has been a couple of days since I have posted but I had a sick baby and then a sick hubby. Still not sure which is worse. There will probably be several posts over the next couple of days as I get caught back up. I am so excited to share with you that Scrappity-Doo-Dah has welcomed another new designer to the store. PictureDesigns opened her store today and already is filling it with some fabulous kits. She also released a brand new kit today, Visable Changes. I got a chance to work with this kit and boy does she have some beautiful designs!!

I have to say I love them, they are unique and easy to make your own. In addition to using her templates I have also done some playing around with a couple of her other kits. I revisited For The Boys which is on my favorite list, I had actually had to put it away for a bit as I was making so many layouts with it becuase of how much I love the colors. Then I also played with her kit You're A Hoot which is currently available in the August Mega Kit. The word strips alone make this kit a must have in my collection!

A Day At The Zoo

We have finally had some cooler weather this week. Today Isaac and I went to the zoo. It was so nice to actually be able to do something outside and not feel like we were going to pass out from the heat. He had a blast. Though I am not sure if he enjoyed the people or the animals more. I didn't get much in the way of designing done today since I opted to spend the day outside with my son. A Crazy Week

My week has been crazy and unfortunitly that means I have not gotten to spend the time I wanted to on my computer. I have a couple home projects that I have taken on and they have taken up whatever little free time I can manage. Isaac is growing by the minute and has me on my toes almost every minute that he is up. Wouldn't change it for the world though. We have company this weekend and then I am hoping that my life will be able to settle back down into some sort of routine. I promise to have at least one freebie up on the blog early next week.

Oh, and I am not usually one to advertise but after a couple of weeks of utilizing swagbucks I am hooked and want to share the love with all of my friends. However, with a teething baby and a lot of hours at work this week that just doesn't look like a realistic goal for me. Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

It was a hot one today. We broke 100 degrees today with a heat index near 115. Entirely too hot if you ask me. Isaac and I enjoyed the day inside in the A/C! Summer Fun In August

It is unbelievably hot and humid here!! August always makes me think of summer with all of this heat. I have decided to challeneg myself to work on my designing every day this month. And since it is August I decided that this little challenge is going to be called Summer Fun. Today I worked on creating a color swatch and then broke that color swatch up into several different pieces. The first I am going to be working with is yellow. So for the next week you are going to be able to collect pieces to a mini kit I am going to be calling Summer Fun: Yellow. I will be getting down to business tomorrow with my designing, however, I did promise you a freebie today so while working on the color swatch I did create a small little wordart for you.

Teething Bites!

I have gotten very little done when it comes to designing this week. My poor little guy is teething. I feel so sorry for him as there is so little I can do and he does not understand the pain at all. Hopefully we will finish cutting this first tooth soon and all of us can return to our lives again.

Lots More Work

Well I have decided that html is not exactly my friend. I have spent some more time working on my blog today and have gotten very little done. I think I have at least gotten the colors adjusted to where everything is able to be read again. I have lots more work to do on it though.

I am thinking about taking a break tomorrow from my blog design and work some more on my next mini kit. Maybe you will be seeing some papers coming shortly. ;)

Just A Quick Hello

Good evening everyone!! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. It was a little too hot here but outside of that I had a great weekend with my boys. My mother came to visit and it was nice getting to spend time with her. Isaac loves having company as it is another person to get love and attention from.

I spent a little time last week trying to work on my blog design. Not overly happy with it so far but plan to work on it some more this week. I am also start to work on another mini kit that I hope to get up in the next week or so.

What's To Come

Well I am still in need of a makeover to my blog. And it will come, however, I have been busy doing other things. I guess the motivation just isn't there yet to get the blog updated. I am excited though to use my Puppy Love kit to do some updates.

In the meantime, I have started thinking about my next freebie. I have put together a new color swatch and wanted to share with everyone.

The kit is going to be called "This One's For The Boys". I work part time at Baby Gap/Gap Kids and I hear that song all of the time. It is one of those songs that can get stuck in your head for days. So the other day when I was thinking about how I wanted to do a boys kit for my son that song was in my head and so the kit was named.

Puppy Love Is Complete

Well I finished up the elements! I am pretty happy with how everything turned out. I know that I still have a lot of growing yet to do as a designer but when I look at this kit in comparison to what I attempted before I am very happy with how far I have come. The one thing that I am struggling with big time is previews. I am not sure how much I like the element preview I have posted below. I tried to then put a full kit preview together and could not come up with anything I even remotely liked so that has been put on the back burner for now.

Over the next day together I will be putting together some layouts of my own using my own kit. You may even see a quick page or two loaded to the site. Then I plan to do a little makeover to my blog as it really does need to be personalized.

Looking For Some Motivation

I had big hopes of getting some housework done today and it is already 2:30 and I am no where close to making it through my list. Where did the motivation go? Since the housework isn't getting done maybe I should just give in and spend the afternoon at the computer. Well at least until Isaac wakes up from his afternoon nap. If all goes well I hope to get the elements finished tonight which means you can look for the final piece of Puppy Love to be posted in the morning.

Get Your Creativity On

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful day. We had another beautiful day here. The temps were once again in the low 80s and the humidity was down. Isaac and I enjoyed a nice walk outside and even visited the local park. Though I was disappointed to find that we have no swings at our park - boo! Now hopefully my night will go as well as the day went. Isaac is trying to cut his first teeth and has been waking up every 10-15 minutes for the last hour or two. He is settling back down fairly well with either a binkie or a little bit of reassurance, however, if it continues throughout the entire night I don't think mommy is going to be getting much sleep. Hummm... maybe that will mean more time to work on my designing? I am hoping to post the next piece sometime over the weekend.

In the meantime I wanted to share a layout I just did. Both the template and the mini kit used were freebies from this months Get Your Creativity On challenge over at Scrappity-Doo-Dah. I absolutely love them both and encourage you to go check it out. Tiffany and Crystal always put on a good challenge and this months is wonderful!!

It has been absolutely beautiful outside the past two days. The humidity has let up a little and the temps have been in the 80s. Why can't all of summer be like this?

A Busy Monday

Thank you for everyone who has stopped by to pick up my Puppy Love papper pack. I promise the next piece of the kit is on its way. I have been working on it over the past few days and as long as nothing unexpected comes up today then I will be burning the midnight oil if necessary to get it finished today so I can upload it tomorrow.

Since my last post life has continued to be busy around my house. Isaac keeps us all on our toes as he becomes more and more mobile by the day - no make that by the hour. I wouldn't want it any other way though. I have been finding more time to sit down at my computer and work on my layouts as well exploring the world of designing. I have been very blessed by other designers and their generosity and guidance that I am extremely grateful for the wonderful community I have found in the digi world.

Well the little man is waking up and there are a couple of dozen things still on my to do list for today. And don't worry my Puppy Love kit is on the list too. Did you figure out what piece is coming next?

So I have been very quiet recently. Isaac has been keeping me super busy and it seems there is always something going on. However, I am back. I have been spending more time with my scrapbook pages and even messing around a little bit with designing.

I wanted to stop in tonight and post about a little project I am working on. I have decided to try my hand at creating my own little mini kit. I know that I did the All American Pup kit but with more and more exposure to the digi world I am now really excited to try to bump it up a notch.

I am currently working on a kit called Puppy Love. I am going to be posting it in pieces and am going to burn some midnight oil to finish the first piece for tomorrow. Want a sneak peak?

The Year Has Ended With A Bang

I appologize for the long gap between posts. I had a few posts that were scheduled for the week I was in the hospital and I had some issues so they never got posted. And well then with the new little one and the holidays the last few weeks have been crazy. But things are starting to settle down a little and I hope to be more active over the next several weeks.

So the news everyone has been waiting for...It's A Boy! My son was born on December 8th and has been bringing the entire family nothing but pure joy ever since. We had some complications during labor and ended up having a c-section but we are all doing well now. I will be posting some layouts to show off my new bundle of joy over the next week.

Tomorrow starts the next blog train for ADSD. This is my first train to participate in as a designer. I am a little disappointed as I was not able to get an entire kit ready for tomorrow with all of the activities in December. I, however, will have a free download for you tomorrow as well as the entire list of particpants in the blog train. Plus, I will have an additional free download every Friday in January. So you will still get an entire kit from me it will just be in weekly downloads.

Exciting Week Ahead

Next week is going to be a busy week for my family. Do to the continued contractions and the lack of our little baby actually coming our doctor has decided to induce Monday night. So next week we will finally be welcoming our new addition! I will not be on my blog at all next week. Well I hope that everyone is staying safe on this crazy day of shopping. At over 8 months pregnant I most deffinitly did not join in on the chaos this year. I instead will be spending the day at home with my family and my pups.

A Few More Layouts To Share

I am still cruising through my photos trying to get my albums updated at least a bit. I wanted to share a few more layouts with you that I finished last night. Both of these layouts use the kit Autumn Ago by Laura at Smooth Sailing Designs. The rich colors in this kit are so perfect for all of your fall layouts. But as you can see from my layouts the kit is so vercitle that it can be used for almost anything - even a spring layout or two. Scrappin' Away

So it has been awhile since I was on here. We had a few little bumps with the pregnancy but everyone is doing well and baby is still haning in strong. Hard to believe that the little one is due next month.

This week I joined the CT for two outstanding designers: Smooth Sailing Designs & Crystal's Creations. I encourage you to check out both of their blogs as well their stores. I have managed to find some time to do some layouts. Actually I have spent a lot of time working on layouts. For some reason my 9th month "nesting" instincts have been directed towards my albums instead of my house. So though the floors in my house could really using some scrubbing and there are still tons of boxes to go through after our recent moves I am making progress on my albums. Last night while working on some layouts using Crystal's Pistacio Rose kit I was able to finish up the layouts for my brother wedding. Which means that both January and February are now completly done for 2009.

So, I thought I would share the layouts I did for my brothers wedding with everyone. I greatly appreciate any comments and feedback you have. And if you like the layouts please make sure to check out Crystal's Creation for the Kit Pistacio Rose

Exciting Day

Well last night I was working on some layouts that I was really hoping to get posted today. Well our coming baby had other plans for the day. I ended up spending most of the day at the hospital due to some minor complications. Our baby is nice and healthy and staying strong. I am home resting now and will go back to the doctor's for a follow up. There is a possibility I will end up some extra free time on my hands this coming week if they choose to put me on bed rest. Which will mean a whole lot of time spent working on my digital scrapbooking. I will keep everyone posted and it may turn out that I have some exciting baby layouts to show off before I get a chance to finish up the holiday layouts!

A New Beginning

So this is my first blog and I figured I should start with a little bit about me. I have been happily married to my other half for three years now. We have three "kids" Trooper, Scout, & Biscuit (yes, they all have four legs). We are happily expecting our newest addition on December 6th. So don't be surprised that the coming posts will most likely contain a lot regarding our three dogs and our new baby.

I worked as an accountant until this past February when I was laid off. Since then I have been running our house. In addition to our three dogs we often foster puppies for a local rescue group. Unfortunately that has recently been on hold with the pregnancy. My family just moved into a new home the beginning of October and that has kept me plenty busy. Though my degree was in accounting my true passion lies in the preservation of the thousands of pictures that tell the story of my life. I began scrapbooking about 14 years ago and have loved every moment of it. Just over two years ago I discovered the world of digital scrapbooking and cannot seem to get enough. So here starts my new beginning...

I have helped friends and family over the years put their memories into albums and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Recently, however, I have found pure joy in creating layouts and embellishments for digital scrapbooking. I have also dabbled a bit in creating my own materials. So that is what this blog is primarily going to be (well outside of me & my family): A place for me to share my work as I grow as a designer (I definitely don't think I qualify as one just yet) and to hopefully get the opinion of all of you scrappers' out there!
